There’s no doubt that how serious and dreadful the coronavirus pandemic is, but there is always a silver lining amid the chaos. The COVID-19 pandemic has got the world on its knees – there are people who have lost their lives, and the others are shaken up with fears and uncertainties. Since we have a lot of time to introspect and realize how it’s changing our lives for the better, we should shift our focus to the bright side. We surely have to defeat this deadly virus, but it has also given us time to reflect on various things about ourselves for the welfare of the environment and society.
There is a lot of panic and fear, but the current crisis also offers these three opportunities for us to become better versions of ourselves and lead a healthy life in the future.
Cleaner & Healthy Environment
“On the environmental front, the blessings are many and unavoidable. Lack of tourism and travel activities has given a break to the environment. There are parts of China that has got to see a blue sky for the first time in years, with factories not functioning there at all.”
The complete shutdown wasn’t good news for many, especially those working in the most affected sectors, but it surely proves to be a boon for our planet. The radical decrease in the road and air traffic, large manufacturing industries being shut or operating far below their capacity, and the lack of tourism have helped our mother nature to heal and restore itself.
Reconnect & Help Others
It’s indeed a challenging time for all of us to live in isolation, but the crisis also offers us a great opportunity to bond and help others more spiritually. Feeling lonely and scared of what future holds is what all of us are facing presently, but that’s what has also brought everyone closer and value each other deeply.
Although the time has come with a big caveat of people being self-centred and unkind, there are always ways to create more social harmony and live peacefully.
Better & More Productive Meetings
However, the technology for advanced meetings and presentations were already in place and mature for a long time, the COVID-19 pandemic has brought it to real practice. As per Forbes, “Companies almost spend 23-24 hours per week in team meetings and presentations, half of which are not even effective and pleasant.”
The current situation has not only forced us to rethink and plan better meetings but also to put them into effect almost immediately. The benefits of virtual meetings are – they are usually shorter, more attentive, and value-adding.
While taking necessary measures to fight against COVID-19, keep looking at these bright sides as well because making them a part of our daily lives can take a lot of time and constant efforts. Look at it this way – the longer the pandemic lasts, the greater the opportunities are and the more the chances are of actually reconsidering our lives and reshaping it in a way that has a positive impact on our planet.
