The coronavirus pandemic that has hit the world at the start of 2020 has completely changed the dynamics of the business and corporate industry. From the mid of March, there’s a complete shift in a way we’ve been made to work for years and overall human lifestyle.
However, this difficult time has allowed us to realize the impact of conventional working strategies on our lives and the future of upcoming generations. The emerging work trends might have been the result of a global crisis but are surely making us walk towards the brighter future of work. Nowadays, workplaces are taking steps to establish and promote remote work options more than ever before.
As per the Work from Home Survey conducted by Noble House, Here are the 5 Key Findings of Our Latest Work from Home Survey that can help you rethink your business paradigm and organizational practice.
1. 61% of people feel excellent about working from home
When asked whether they are comfortable working from home or the place of work doesn’t matter, the majority of people responded in the favor of remote working. Flexibility, lack of commute, and better focus are the top three reasons for working remotely, as indicated by employees globally.
2. 27% of people cited “unreliable internet connection” as their biggest challenge of remote working
As compared to 23% of people who reported “family distractions” as their biggest challenge of remote working, the large group of people (27%) stated “unreliable internet connection” as the biggest obstacle in their journey of working from home.
3. 52% of people feel inspired to give their best when working remotely because of undivided focus on productivity
The 52% of survey respondents who are currently working from home chose “undivided focus on productivity” as their main source of inspiration to be more productive and effective from home than in the office. However, the fair number of people (32%) tend to give their best when working remotely is because of being around their families and loved ones.
4. 50% of people follow a strict “shutdown ritual” to end their day and unplug after work
Since it’s a huge transition for many who are either newbies to remote working or have only done it a few times in the past, many challenges can upset their work-life balance. Knowing when to end your day and unplug after work is one of them. According to our survey, 50% of people responded that they follow a stringent “shutdown ritual” and do not mix work and personal commitments at any level.
5. 61% of people would prefer working from home in the future if given a choice
Last but not least, we asked people how would they prefer working in the future when hopefully this global crisis will be all over. According to the analysis, 61% of respondents showed willingness towards working from home than working in the cubicle if given a choice. Though the transition has tremendously disturbed all of our lives, the current and future generations would still give preference to remote working in the future as it allows them to be productive and pursue personal interests simultaneously.
As per our WFH Survey synopsis, the bottom line is that – the remote working is no more the future of work, it’s the present.
